Reviews for "Follow Me, Follow My
Groove"
"I
got it. Follow me, follow my groove", is the opening statement on this
super cool new project from Louie I. Guzman, Jr. also known as "NY"
Louie. A New York native, Louie was born in the Bronx. He grew up in
a music loving family (his grandmother taught him to salsa dance at the age of
two). His childhood idol was Tito Puente, who would become his mentor
years later. NY Louie moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico about six years ago
after a two decade career in the Air Force and began pursuing his dream in
music, this is, after graduating with a degree in Vocational Education and
Training. The highly disciplined artist, cut loose and recorded a
fantastic first effort called "Follow Me, Follow My Groove" this year
featuring his skilled piano work and colorful percussion and vocals. This
fun, margarita-inspiring project also features sax man Jeff Kashiwa on two
songs, George Benson's classic, "On Broadway" (really unique with a
sax lead) and on the Louie Guzman original, "Louie's Groove".
Other stand out tracks include an ultra festive version of Herbie Hancock's
"Watermelon Man", another original called "Cuban Groove"
that will bring out the Joe Boxer dancer in you and "Mi Ritmo", also
penned by "NY". Any fan of Latin music and smooth jazz should
just automatically own this - No questions asked. - Sandy Shore
